History : Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences founded in 1992 that based on Economics and Commercial Sciences Academy, Pre-Graduate School of Accounting of Ege University which was establised in 1975, is the first and the founding faculty of Celal Bayar University.


In our department, basic education is given in the areas of economics, business, finance, math, statistics, law, and computer sciences for the first two years. In third and fourth years, optional subjects will be given according to enable specialising on Departments of "Accounting and Finance", "Management and Organisation", "Operations Management and Marketing", "Numerical Methods". Preparatory class with English education is offered to our students on demand.

Specific Admission Requirements : In our country, it is necessary to pass YGS / LYS elective exams for entrance to universities. Entry to undergraduate programs for T.C. citizens is subject only to the condition that they are not enrolled in another higher education institution except Open Education Systems from this examination. According to the result of a central examination called Foreign Student Examination (YÖS), foreign students are accepted from a certain quota framework.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) : Recognition of prior non-formal and in-formal learning is at the beginning stages in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Celal Bayar University is not an exception to this; however, exams of exemption are organized at the beginning of each school year for English Language and some other courses. Students who have completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her own or through other means, and believes that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. Students who achieve a passing grade (65%) from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum. Also, the recognition of the previous formal education, vertical and horizontal transitions between universities are executed according to the “Legislation on the Principals about the Transition between Associate Degrees and Bachelor's Degrees, Double Major, Lateral Major and Credit Transfer between Institutions” that is determined by Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK). If a student successfully completed a course in another institution, the department can waive that course if there is a corresponding course at Celal Bayar University and the content of that particular course is approved by the department faculty members.

Profile of The Programme : Accordingly the Business Administration undergraduate education executes theoretically and practically with the aim of bringing flexible state of mind and making students successful at the global competitive environment. In the first two years of the program students take lessons about economics, business, public finance, mathematics, statistics, law and computer technology in order to get basic information. In the following two years, students can choose lessons provide them the chance of specializing in “Accounting and Finance”, “Management and Organization”, “Productions Management and Marketing”, “Quantitive Methods”. The Business Administration program intends to cultivate the tomorrow’s managers and business executives for business life at public and private sectors via a contemporary education program.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples : Our graduates can work in a variety of management positions at public and private sectors. They can serve in marketing-sales, money and capital markets, banking and insurance, financing, financial institutions, international trade (import-export), purchasing, accounting – financial advising, public relations, production and planning, management consulting, human resources management, customs brokerage fields. As a result of Business Administration program, entrepreneurs of the future are trained.
In addition, graduate alumni, can take part as academic staff in the universities after completing master’s degree.
Access to Further Studies : Graduates holding a Bachelor's (first cycle) degree are eligible to apply to a Masters (second cycle) degree program at national level and/or international level both in the same and in related disciplines.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : There is at least one midterm exam for each course. Students are assessed whether they are successful or not from the courses they have taken in two stages, one midterm and one final exam. Other than midterm exams, quizzes, projects and other activities that the instructor deems suitable can be done. The contribution of these activities to the number and grade of achievement is indicated in the course plan by the instructor. When passing grade is determined, midterm exam is 40% and final exam is 60% effective. All exams are evaluated on a scale of 100 points and relative systems.

In order for a student to be considered a successful in a lesson, he must obtain CC as a minimum grade. Students with a GANO score of at least 2.00 (DC) and (DD) are considered to be successful in grades. Students who do not have a failed course, but whose GANO is below 2.00, must first take the courses (DC) and (DD) to get their GANOs above 2.00 in order to graduate.

Graduation Requirements : In order to graduate from the programme, it is required to pass all the courses in the programme (equivalent to total 240 ECTS) and to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 over 4.00

Facilities : The department uses a part of the classrooms in the buildings belonging to Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, also two fully-equipped computer halls along with other departments. Some of the classrooms are designed as technology classrooms and it is made possible to use smart boards and projectors. Also, research assistants have the opportunity to work in two-person rooms and each of them can benefit from the university library with computers that have internet connection.
