History : The department of economics, continues to provide education since 1992 when Manisa Celal Bayar University was established.
The Department of economics, which provides education at the level of formal and evening education, consists of four branches of education: Economic theory, economic development and international economics, economics policy and economics history.

Specific Admission Requirements : In our country, it is necessary to be successful in university entrance exams made by OSYM for entrance to universities. Access to undergraduate programs for Turkish citizens depends only on the condition that they are not enrolled in another higher education institution except for notes taken from this examination and open education faculties. According to a result of a central exam called the Foreign Student Examination (YÖS), foreign students are accepted in a certain quota framework.
Documents required for registration;
1. High school and balanced school diploma,
2. The result document showing that the relevant university has been placed by taking sufficient points from the related field of the university LYS exam conducted by the Center for Measurement, Selection and Placement (OSYM).
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) : The education and teaching language in our university is Turkish. However, part or all of the education and training may be carried out on the designated foreign language in the departments and programs providing the foreign language preparatory class. Exemption exams are also opened at the beginning of each academic year for the courses approved by the relevant boards and the Senate's decision. Students are exempted from common compulsory foreign language courses if they take 65 or more from the compulsory foreign language exam.

Profile of The Programme : The Undergraduate Program of the Department of Economics aims to meet unlimited needs; to make use of the most efficient use of consumable resources, to increase these resources and to give them a solid theoretical background on the distribution of manufactured goods and services, to enable students to look at real life economic events and problems from a broad perspective, to apply current analytical tools to solve these problems, They gain the ability to follow up on current developments in the world economy and Turkish economy practically with interns in the first semester of the last year.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples : Our graduates can employ in international markets and domestic public and private sector as economist. Treasury, The Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, State Planning Organization, Turkey Statistics Institute, Ministry of Finance, Capital Markets, Competition Authority and the Central Bank, as well as being able to active duties in institutions such as master's and doctoral programs by continuing to pursue an academic career can make.
Access to Further Studies : Graduates holding a Bachelor's (first cycle) degree are eligible to apply to a Masters (second cycle) degree or PhD program at national level and/or international level both in the same and in related disciplines.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : Evaluation criteria for each course is determined by the faculty member who is teaching the course and this evaluation criteria is available on the University Course Information Catalogue. The students are required to take at least one midterm and one final exam in the scope of each enrolled course. In addition to these, quizzes, homeworks, presentations, projects etc. are determined by the faculty member to be involved in the evaluation criteria. At the end of the year, the grades of the students are calculated by the combination of midterm and final exam grades, in-year activities and participation in class.
When passing grade is determined, midterm exam is 40% and final exam is 60% effective. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. The note that the student gets when calculating the success grade is converted to the letter grade in the relative system. The student must receive at least CC letter grades to be successful in a course. Students with a GANO score of at least 2.00 (DC) and (DD) are considered to be successful in grades. Students who do not have a failed course, but whose GANO is below 2.00, must first take the courses (DC) and (DD) to get their GANOs above 2.00 in order to graduate.

Facilities : There are 3 professors, 3 associate professors, 5 assistant professors and 6 research assistants in the department. Some of the classrooms in the faculties of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences use two fully equipped computer halls with other departments. Most of the classrooms are designed as technology class, smart boards and projection machines have become possible to use and the students are provided with the help of visual and audio materials to better understand the theoretical and practical lessons. All the faculty members in the department have all the technological facilities that we need in order to be able to continue their academic and scientific work.
