History : Manisa Celal Bayar University School of Applied Sciences was first established on May 30, 1997 under the name of Akhisar School of Applied Sciences which is legitimated by the House of Ministers. Department of International Trade at the School of Applied Sciences started education in 1999 at its building in Manisa city center. In 2005, the name of the school was changed to School of Applied Sciences and in 2011 the School was moved to the Muradiye Campus. The Banking and Finance Department was established in 2002 within the School of Applied Sciences.

Specific Admission Requirements : To have a high school diploma and to obtain sufficient points from the relevant field from the Undergraduate Placement Exam conducted by the Center for Measurement, Selection and Placement (ÖSYM)
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) : Students enrolled in the program and those who come in the horizontal and vertical transitions can be exempted from the courses they have achieved in the higher education institutions they have already studied. Also; An exemption examination is opened at the beginning of each academic year for the foreign language course and the proposals of the relevant committees and the courses approved by the Senate. Students who score 65 or more on the exemption exam are exempt from these courses.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : Successful completion of all of the courses available in the program (for a total of 240 ECTS) and having a weighted GPA of at least 2.00/4.00 is a necessary qualification for graduation. Students are also required to successfully complete the 8th-semester internship course.
Profile of The Programme : The purpose of Banking and Finance program is to train qualified staff to serve in the field of banking and finance.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples : Banking and Finance Department graduates can be employed in the accounting and finance departments of various enterprises together with BRSA, CMB, IMKB, Central Bank, public banks, private banks and financial intermediaries.
Access to Further Studies : Graduates, who have successfully completed undergraduate degree, providing at least minimum acceptable ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) score and have a sufficient command at a foreign language, may apply to graduate programmes in Turkey or abroad.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : Evaluation criteria for each course is determined by the faculty member who is teaching the course and this evaluation criteria is available on the University Course Information Catalogue. The students are required to take at least one midterm and one final exam in the scope of each enrolled course. In addition to these, quizzes, homeworks, presentations, projects etc. are determined by the faculty member to be involved in the evaluation criteria. At the end of the year, the grades of the students are calculated by the combination of midterm and final exam grades, in-year activities, and participation in class.
When the passing grade is determined, the midterm exam is 40% and the final exam is 60% effective. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. The note that the student gets when calculating the success grade is converted to the letter grade in the relative system. The student must receive at least CC letter grades to be successful in a course. Students with a GANO score of at least 2.00 (DC) and (DD) are considered to be successful in grades. Students who do not have a failed course, but whose GANO is below 2.00, must first take the courses (DC) and (DD) to get their GANOs above 2.00 in order to graduate.
Graduation Requirements : Students must successfully complete all required and elective courses (total of 240 ECTS) which must be taken in the program and achieve a CGPA of at least 2.0 over 4.00 out of 4.00. In addition, it is necessary to successfully complete the internships course in the 8th semester.

Facilities : The department of Banking and Finance is located in a blue building in Muradiye Campus. Students use fully equipped computer room, reading room, and campus facilities. Students can use the database with the computers with internet access in the school library. Social, cultural and sports activities abound and the school has six clubs. (Atatükçü Düşünce Club, Çanakkale Savaşlarını Araştırma ve Ata’nın Yolunda 57. Alay Club, Basın Yayın Club, Bilim ve Kültür Club, Genç Tema Club, Genç Liderler Club).
Presently, there are 1 professor, 4 associate professor, 4 assistant professors and 3 research assistants at the department.
