History : The Manisa Health High School, which is located in the Faculty of Health Sciences, was published in the Official Newspaper dated 08 April 2016 and numbered 29678 and was closed down by the decision of the Council of Ministers and converted into Faculty of Health Sciences. Teaching as Social Work Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences has been continuing since 2016.

Specific Admission Requirements : Admission to the faculty is arranged within the framework of Turkish Higher Education Council Law and decisions. Students are admitted to the faculty in accordance with the Higher Education Entrance Examination (YGS) and Undergraduate Placement Examination results given by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM) in Ankara.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) : The recognition of the prior formal education, vertical and horizontal transitions between universities are determined by the “Legislation on The Principals About The Transition Between Associate Degrees and Bachelor's Degrees, Double Major, Lateral Major and Credit Transfer Between Institutions” that is determined by Turkish Council of Higher Education (YOK). There is no foreing language preparation program at our Faculty. At the beginning of each school year, exemption exams are organized for the courses that Senate approves with the proposal of the relevant boards. Students who achieve a 65 or more passing grade from these examption exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : Students should fulfill 240 ECTS which has been predetermined at department programme including must and elective courses. In addition, Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) must be at least 2.00/4.00 to earn Bachelors degree for Social Work.
Profile of The Programme : Students have to take at least 30 ECTS for each semester and 60 ECTS credits at one year in total. Students at the Social Work Bachelor's Program are able to take elective courses starting from the first semester. Celal Bayar University's pool of elective courses are composed of the courses which can be taken by any of our students. As a part of the bachelor's program, at the fourth grade (seventh and eighth semesters) there are compulsory practice courses. Social Work Program has approximately 30% practice weight. In the first two years of education, students take courses covering the knowledge of social sciences in general besides theoretical and applied knowledge of social work as a branch of social science and a profession. During the later years of the program, students carry out research and professional practice besides having deeper theoretical knowledge of the field.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples : Social workers works in the social services and Ministry of Family and Social Policies, Provincial Directorate of Social Services, in the fields of health, criminal justice, special education, youth, social security, social assistance, labor, higher education, etc.
Access to Further Studies : Candidates who have successfully completed postgraduate studies, can study graduate (Master's and PhD) programs with obligated requirement score from the Academic Staff and Graduate Study Education Exam (ALES) and The Interuniversity Board Foreign Examination (YDS).
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : Students are evaluated for each course in two stages, one midterm an done final exam. In addition to midterm exams, quizzes, projects and other activities may be carried out if the faculty member approves. The number of these activities and the contribution to the grade are indicated in the course plan by faculty member. Midterm exam’s %40 and final exam’s %60 is added to the grade. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. The achievement grade is translated into a letter grade according to the relative evaluation system.
It is necessary to obtain at least CC as a letter grade, for a student to be successful in a course. Students with at least 2.00 (DC orDD) GANO score are considered to be successful in the grading system. Students whose GANO is below 2.00, have to re-take the courses which grades are DC and DD to graduate.
Graduation Requirements : In order to graduate from the programme, it is required to pass all the courses in the programme (equivalent to total 240 ECTS) and to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 over 4.00

Students have the opportunity of studying at contracting universities during at most two semesters within the Erasmus and Farabi programmes.
There is a library,conference hall, computer lab, coffee shop and a cafe with tennis table students benefit. All of the classrooms are made possible to use boards and projectors.
