History : Manisa Celal Bayar University Demirci Vocational School was established on 25.01.1994. In the academic year 2016 - 2017, Geographic Information Systems program education and training has been started. From 2017 - 2018, II. education will continue with the curriculum.

Specific Admission Requirements : Candidates are required to have a high school and balanced school degree and enough score from the YGS-1 score from the Higher Education Transition Examination (YGS) conducted by the Center for Measurement, Selection and Placement (ÖSYM).
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) : Students enrolled in the program can be exempted from the courses they have achieved in the higher education institutions they have already studied. Also; An exemption examination is opened at the beginning of each academic year for the foreign language course and the proposals of the relevant committees and courses approved by Senate. Students who score 65 or more on exemption examinations are exempted from these courses
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : In order to obtain the associate degree from the Geographical Information Systems Program, a total of 120 ECTS credits must be successfully completed in the form specified in the training program. In addition to this, it is a requirement that the overall academic grade average is at least 2.00 over 4.00
Profile of The Programme : Geographical Information Systems program educates strong and human-related professionals with professional knowledge and skills that can effectively carry out the professions in the private sector, both in the public institution and in the processes related to the information systems, assimilating the concepts and principles related to the field in the qualifications required by the relevant sector.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples : Graduates who have successfully completed the Geographic Information Systems Program; May have the opportunity to work primarily in the spatial data producing units and computing units of the institutions and organizations working in the fields of Mapping, Hydrological Applications, Forestry Applications, Agricultural Practices, Maritime and Coastal Management, Defense Applications in public and private sectors and especially local administrations.
Access to Further Studies : Students who have successfully completed the program can have the chance to graduate with the Vertical Transfer Exam by passing through departments such as Computer Technology and Information Systems, Teaching Computer and Instructional Technologies, Computer-Informatics Information Systems and Technologies, Mapping Engineering, City and Regional Planning, Geological Engineering
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : There is at least one midterm exam for each course. Students are evaluated in two stages as a midterm exam and a final exam to determine whether they are successful in the courses they have taken. Quizzes other than midterm exams, projects, assignments and other activities the instructor may consider appropriate. The contribution of these activities to the number and grade of achievement is indicated in the course plan by the instructor. When passing grade is determined, midterm exam is 40% and final exam is 60% effective. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. The student must take at least a letter grade (CC) in order to be considered a successful dersten. Students with a GANO score of at least 2.00 (DC) and (DD) are considered to be successful in grades. Students who do not have a failed course but whose GANO is less than 2.00 must first take the courses (DC) and (DD) in order to graduate and increase their GANO to above 2.00. These assessments are based on the achievement grade And participates in the cumulative academic average proportionate to the ECTS value of the course.
Graduation Requirements : In order to graduate from the department, at least 120 ECTS courses must be taken, the average academic grade point average must be at least 2.00 over 4.00, and the condition that the internship is completed is required
