History : Celal Bayar University Soma Vocational School of Biomedical Device Technology Program was opened in 2015-2016 Academic Year and from 2018-2019 Academic Year, Sector Applications Training Model (3 + 1) students will be taken.

Specific Admission Requirements : Candidates must have a high school and a balanced school diploma and a certificate showing that the related division has been placed by taking the sufficient score from the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) administered by the Center for Measurement, Selection and Placement.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) : Students enrolled in the program can be exempted from the courses they have achieved in the higher education institutions they have already studied. Also; An exemption examination is opened at the beginning of each academic year for the foreign language course and the proposals of the relevant committees and the courses approved by the Senate. Students who score 65 or more on the exemption examination are exempted from these courses.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : In order to be graduated from the Biomedical Device Technology program, students must have successfully completed the required and elective courses for 120 ECTS including 30 semesters in the form specified in the departmental education program and complete the Sector Applications training. In addition to these conditions, the GPA should be at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Profile of The Programme : The program provides theoretical and practical training at the level of two-year associate degree. The quota of the program is 40 people.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples : Main business areas for our associates; - Technical services or sales departments of private sector firms that produce and / or sell the relevant area, - Technical services of public or private hospitals, - Private technical service companies.
Access to Further Studies : Our graduate students are able to graduate to the departmental degree programs and open departments by using the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : At least one midterm and one final exam are given for each course. Other than midterm exams, quizzes, projects and other activities that the instructor deems suitable can be done. The contribution of these activities to the number and grade of achievement is indicated in the course plan by the teaching staff. Success grade is calculated by taking 40% of midterm grade and 60% of final grade. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Success grade is evaluated by relative evaluation system and converted into letter grade. The student must take at least a CC letter grade in order for a dersten to be considered successful. Students with a GANO score of at least 2.00 (DC) and (DD) are considered to be successful in their grades.
Students are required to submit a maximum score of (DD), (DC), or (CC) to students who fall below GANO 2.00 for a maximum of three courses that fail to attain graduation or have not received a recent (FF) or (FD) three courses are entitled to an additional exam. The score taken from the additional exams will replace the success grade. At the end of each semester the student will be entitled to the additional exam.
Graduation Requirements : To be successful in all of the courses available in the program (120 ECTS credits), to obtain a GANO of at least 2.00 over 4.00 and to complete the Sector Applications Training
