History : Manisa Celal Bayar University Faculty of Arts & Sciences Department of Philosophy was founded in 2013 and and started education in 2017-2018 school year.

Specific Admission Requirements : In first cycle degree, candidates must have high school diploma or equivalent and have to get sufficient points from the examination of Student Selection and Placement System
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) : Students enrolled in the program and students with horizontal and vertical transitions can be exempted from the courses they have achieved in the higher education institutions they have already studied. Also; An exemption examination is opened at the beginning of each academic year for the proposal of Foreign Language and related boards and courses approved by Senate. Students who score 65 or more on the exemption exam are exempted from these courses.
Horizontal-vertical transition is provided to students according to the quotas announced.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : The student must have succeeded all his courses in the programme. In this programme, the student is expected to get 240 ECTS credit and his average grade is expected to be at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Profile of The Programme : Aim of the Manisa Celal Bayar University, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Philosophy Department is to educate graduates who can recognize the problem areas of philosophy with accoutrements of history of philosophy, who think abstract therefore can converge with philosophical view to the cultural, social and ethical problems of our age, who criticize, pose questions, discontent with problems and seek solutions, who have awareness of responsibility.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples : Graduates who take pedagogical formation have the opportunity to work in high schools and in training centers as Teacher of Group of Philosophy and Psychological Counseling and Guidance in both private and public sectors. Graduates can make academical career by taking second and third cycle programmes. They can also canalize in several job fields as public relations, advertising, advertisement authorship, editorial in written and visual media, criticism conjoint with their personal improvements and in interpretership depending on their foreign language level.
Access to Further Studies : Students who completed successfully the undergraduate education, must have sufficient foreign language knowledge and have to get the required points from the examination “Selection Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies “(ALES) in order to continue their studies with post-graduate programs such as second and third cycle.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : Evaluation criteria for each course is determined by the faculty member who is teaching the course and this evaluation criteria is available on the University Course Information Catalogue. The students are required to take at least one midterm and one final exam in the scope of each enrolled course. In addition to these, quizzes, homeworks, presentations, projects etc. are determined by the faculty member to be involved in the evaluation criteria. At the end of the year, the grades of the students are calculated by the combination of midterm and final exam grades, in-year activities and participation in class.
When passing grade is determined, midterm exam is 40% and final exam is 60% effective. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. The note that the student gets when calculating the success grade is converted to the letter grade in the relative system. The student must receive at least CC letter grades to be successful in a course. Students with a GANO score of at least 2.00 (DC) and (DD) are considered to be successful in grades. Students who do not have a failed course, but whose GANO is below 2.00, must first take the courses (DC) and (DD) to get their GANOs above 2.00 in order to graduat.
Graduation Requirements : In order to graduate from the programme, it is required to pass all the courses in the programme (equivalent to total 240 ECTS) and to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 over 4.00.

Facilities : All of the classrooms are equipped with projection devices. There is a seminar room that belongs to the department. Besides, faculty's the common use areas, two computer labs, social and sports facilities in the campus are available to students. The student are provided with the opportunity to study abroad and at other universities in Turkey thanks to ERASMUS and FARABI programmes.
