:
Students who successfully complete all of the courses in the program (totaling 240 ECTS) and obtain a GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 are awarded a bachelor's degree. In addition, when the students reach the 8th semester, they will spend these semesters in a factory by taking "Sector Applications Training" (they should be successful by taking all the courses they have taken before this semester, have completed the engineering internship and have GPA at least 2.00 before the semester education period) and this training has to be completed successfully.

Profile of The Programme
:
Except for the one-year English Preparatory Course, the duration of study is four years. Students who do not have English proficiency may take part in one year of English language preparation in a foreign language department. Today, there are 6 Professors, 4 Associate Professors, 11 Assistant Professors and 8 Research Assistants in education and training. Our department has 5 fields. These are Machine Theory and Dynamics, Mechanics, Construction and Manufacturing, Thermodynamics and Energy Education branches. Our current undergraduate curriculum has been accredited by MÜDEK to cover the years 2009-2017. The curriculum is designed to provide learners with technical skills, engineering predictability and problem solving skills and to make graduates; Educated, responsible, and environmentally conscious people. We also have Double Major and Minor Programs. The vision of our department; Educating a good mechanical engineer and educating the engineers who are in need of the industry is becoming a pioneering educational institution in the Aegean Region. By developing their cooperation with the organized industry, they are trained to have the most up-to-date technological know-how and to use them.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
:
Graduates of the Mechanical Engineering Program can be employed in departments such as design, production, quality control, maintenance, and marketing to work/study on mainly design and production of mechanical/thermal/fluid systems, material and energy technologies.
Access to Further Studies
:
Master and PhD level graduate programs were established in 1993. Graduates holding a Bachelor's (first cycle) degree are eligible to apply to a Masters (second cycle) degree program at national level and/or international level both in the same and in related disciplines.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
:
At least one midterm and one final exam are given for each course. Other than midterm exams, quizzes, projects and other activities that the instructor deems suitable can be done. The contribution of these activities to the number and grade of achievement is indicated in the course plan by the instructor. Success grade is calculated on the basis of 40% of the midterm exam and 60% of the final exam. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Success grade is converted to letter grade with relative evaluation. The student must take at least a CC letter grade to be considered a successful. Students with a GPA of at least 2.00 (DC) and (DD) are considered successful in the courses they take. Students who do not have failed courses, but whose GANO is less than 2.00, must first take the courses (DC) and (DD) to get their GANOs above 2.00 in order to graduate. To be successful from a course, a student must achieve at least “DD” from that course. If a student gets “FF” or “FD” from a course, has too many absents or fails from a non-credit course, the student repeats that course when it becomes available and cannot enroll the courses that it is prerequisite of. At the end of the semester, the course grades are given as letter grades. Letter grades, their point intervals and corresponding coefficients are listed below: Letter Grade; Point Interval; Coefficients
