Profile of The Programme
:
Our department continues its educational activities and academic studies successfully with its young and dynamic staff. The mission of Industrial Engineering Department of Manisa Celal Bayar University is to serve industrial engineers who have the knowledge of main scientific and engineering concepts that are used in analyzing, designing and implementing the manufacturing and service systems as well as improving and increasing the productivity of them. The grads should also coaches of their own and have the business ethics, the ability of analytical thinking. The course program of the department is designed to achieve this mission. The first year, in order to adjust the students to a similar level of knowledge, incorporates main courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer, English, Economics and Orientation to Industrial Engineering. In the second year, we introduce the students with main industrial engineering courses, e.g., Operations Research, Management, as well as assistant courses such as Statistics and Cost Analysis. The third year completely incorporates main occupational courses, e.g., Production and Service Systems Management, Systems Analysis, Work Study, Facility Layout and Planning, Project Management, Modeling and Simulation and Quality Planning and Control. In the last year, the students also take main occupational courses such as Supply Chain Management and Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Automation as well as project-based courses, Industrial Systems Design I and Industrial Systems Design II which include a real-life system design project enriched with main industrial engineering implementations. In addition to the required compulsory courses, students are offered elective courses in a wide range of industrial engineering, giving them the ability to analyze and solve industrial and managerial problems, as well as non-technical elective courses to develop approaches to industrial and administrative problems. Lastly, all the students should accomplish a 20-day production training beginning with the end of second year and a full term Sector Applications training beginning at the fourth year.

Access to Further Studies
:
Graduates holding a Bachelor's (first cycle) degree are eligible to apply to a Masters (second cycle) degree program at national level and/or international level both in the same and in related disciplines. (Each university may have different requirements for the application.)

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
:
The students take at least one midterm and one final exam in the scope of each enrolled course. In addition to these, quizzes, home works and projects that are determined by the instructor in the syllabus can also be involved in the evaluation criteria. Number and weights of these activities are determined by the instructor in the syllabus. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Success grade is converted to letter grade with relative evaluation. The student must take at least a CC letter grade to be succeeded from a course. If a student has courses with (DD) or (DC) letter grades and if this student has a GPA of at least 2.00, these courses are considered as successful. Students who do not have a failed course, but whose GPA is below 2.00, must first take the courses (DC) and (DD) to get their GPA above 2.00 in order to graduate. When a student has only maximum three courses to graduate and if he/she has previously taken and fail from these courses, an additional exam period can be determined for only these three courses for this student.
