The Tobacco Experts School (TEYO) was established in Istanbul in 1975 by the Ministry of Customs and Monopoly and was attached to the Faculty of Forestry in Istanbul University in 1983. In 1987, the university was transferred from Istanbul to Akhisar and connected to the Faculty of Agriculture of Ege University. In 1992, it was attached to Manisa Celal Bayar University and its name was changed to "School of Tobacco Expertise". He still continues his education activities in Akhisar.

High school diploma. To obtain a minimum score of 180 from the Numerical Score type of the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). A medical report from a full-fledged state hospital and a report certifying that they are not color blind.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
|

Recognition of previous formal (formal) learner transitions vertically, horizontally and within the university; Higher Education Council has determined that "The Regulation Regarding the Principles of Transition, Double Major, Minor and Interprovincial Credit Transfers in Higher Education Institutions between Programs of the Associate and Undergraduate Level". At the beginning of each academic year, a joint exemption exam is offered for compulsory foreign language courses. In order to be able to take the exemption exam from the other courses outside this course, the proposal of the relevant committees and the resolution of Senate are required. Students who score 65 or higher on exemption exams are considered exempt. Recognition of prior non-formal and in-formal learning is at the beginning stages in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Celal Bayar University is not an exception to this; however, exams of exemption are organized at the beginning of each school year for English Language and Computer Skills courses. Students who have completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her own or through other means, and believes that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. Students who achieve a passing grade (65%) from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum. Also, the recognition of the previous formal education, vertical and horizontal transitions between universities are executed according to the “Legislation on the Principals about the Transition between Associate Degrees and Bachelor's Degrees, Double Major, Lateral Major and Credit Transfer between Institutions” that is determined by Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK). If a student successfully completed a course in another institution, the department can waive that course if there is a corresponding course at Celal Bayar University and the content of that particular course is approved by the department faculty members.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

Graduates of the school are able to work as an expert or manager in the tobacco industry, in addition they obtain the professional qualification so that they are able to take over a job in a district or province department of agriculture, in institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry or work as a freelance engineer, advisor, expert or arbitrator.

Graduates holding a Bachelor's (first cycle) degree are eligible to apply to a Masters (second cycle) degree program at national level and/or international level both in the same and in related disciplines.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
|

|
At least one midterm and one final exam are given for each course. Other than midterm exams, quizzes, projects and other activities that the instructor deems appropriate can be done. The contribution of these activities to the number and grade of achievement is indicated in the course plan by the instructor. Success grade is calculated by taking 40% of midterm grade and 60% of final grade. All exams are evaluated over 100 points.
Success grade is evaluated by relative evaluation system and converted into letter grade. The student must take at least a CC letter grade to be considered a successful dersten. Students with a GPA score of at least 2.00 (DC) and (DD) are considered to be successful in grades.
Students are required to submit a maximum of three grades (DD), (DC), or (CC) to students who fall below GPA 2.00 for a maximum of three courses that fail to achieve graduation and have not received a final (FF) or (FD) Three courses are entitled to an additional exam. The score taken from the supplementary exam will replace the grade of success. The student shall be entitled to the additional exam at the end of each semester.
