History : Demirci Vocational High School was established on 25.01.1994. Firstly, in 2005, the insurance program started to teach associate degree education. Then it was transformed into the Banking and Insurance Program in 2009-2010 academic year. The curriculum continues to teach and educate as secondary education.

Specific Admission Requirements : Candidates must have a high school and balanced school diploma and have to get enough points from the Higher Education Transition Examination conducted by the Center for Measurement, Selection and Placement.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) : Students enrolled in the program can be exempted from the courses they have achieved in the higher education institutions they have already studied. Also; An exemption examination is opened at the beginning of each academic year for the foreign language course and the proposals of the related boards and the courses approved by the senate. Students who score 65 or more on the exemption exam are exempt from these courses.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : To successfully complete the program, they can graduate on condition that they pass all the courses available in the program (equivalent to 120 ECTS), obtain a GPA of 2.00 over 4.00, and complete compulsory internships. In addition, at the end of the 2nd and 4th semesters, 20 workday workplace internships are required.
Profile of The Programme : Purpose of the Program has assimilated the concepts and principles related to its field with the qualifications required by the relevant sector and trains strong and contemporary professional personnel with professional knowledge and skills that can effectively carry out banking and insurance transactions.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples : Part-graduate students have the information competence, management skills and professional ethical values that can be studied in intermediary financial institutions, investment companies, insurance companies and agencies, as well as financial departments of companies in each sector. They can also open agencies on their behalf, as well as work in brokerage, expert and actuary companies. In insurance and reinsurance companies they can be employed as private pension intermediaries.
Access to Further Studies : Students who have successfully completed the program can have the opportunity to graduate by passing the departments such as Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Banking and Finance, Actuaria or the related departments of the Open Education Faculty with the Vertical Transfer Exam.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : There is at least one midterm exam for each course. Whether the students are successful in the courses they are taking are evaluated in two stages, one midterm and one final exam. Other than midterm exams, quizzes, projects and other activities that the instructor deems suitable can be done. The contribution of these activities to the number and grade of achievement is indicated by the instructor in the course plan. When passing grade is determined, midterm exam is 40% and final exam is 60% effective. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. The student must take a CC as a letter grade so that a dersten can be considered successful. Students with a GANO score of at least 2.00 (DC) and (DD) are considered successful in the courses they take. Students who do not have a failed course, but whose GANO is under 2.00, must first take the courses (DC) and (DD) to graduate and increase their GANO to 2.00 in order to graduate.
