Industrial Automation Technology Programme was founded 2008-2009 academic years firstly, and its name is changed as Control and Automation Programme at 2010. This programme which provides only formal education is connected to Electronics and Automation Departments at 2011. The Department of Electronics and Automation which provides educations both formal and secondary educations covers Electronics and Control-Auromation Programmes.

Specific Admission Requirements

Admission to the vocational school is arranged within the framework of Turkish Higher Education Council law and decisions. Students are admitted to the Control and Automation Program in accordance with the Higher Education Entrance Examination (YKS). Students taking enough points from TYT are admitted to the Control and Automation Program.
Documents required for the registration; 1 - High school diploma or its equivalent, 2 - Student placement examination result given by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM)

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
|

Recognition of prior non-formal and informal learning is at the beginning stages in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Exams of exemption are organized at the beginning of each school year for English Language courses. Students who have completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her own or through other means, and believes that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. Students who achieve a passing grade (65%) from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum. Also, the recognition of the previous formal education, horizontal transitions between universities are executed according to the “Legislation on the Principals about the Transition between Associate Degrees and Bachelor's Degrees, Double Major, Lateral Major and Credit Transfer between Institutions” that is determined by Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK). If a student successfully completed a course in another institution, the department can waive that course if there is a corresponding course at Celal Bayar University and the content of that particular course is approved by the department faculty members.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to obtain pre bachelor diploma degree from the Department of Electronics and Automation, it is necessary to succesfully complete 120 credits that cover elective,mandatory courses, and also sector apllications according to European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). In addition to this condition, the overall weighted grade average must be at least 2.00 over 4.00.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Evaluation criteria for each course is determined by the faculty member who is teaching the course and this evaluation criteria is available on the University Course Information Catalogue. The students are required to take at least one midterm and one final exam in the scope of each enrolled course. In addition to these, quizzes, homeworks, presentations, projects etc. are determined by the faculty member to be involved in the evaluation criteria. At the end of the year, the grades of the students are calculated by the combination of midterm and final exam grades, in-year activities and participation in class. When passing grade is determined, midterm exam is 40% and final exam is 60% effective. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Success grade is converted to letter grade with relative evaluation system. The note that the student gets when calculating the success grade is converted to the letter grade in the relative system. The student must receive at least CC letter grades to be successful in a course. Students with a GANO score of at least 2.00 (DC) and (DD) are considered to be successful in grades. Students who do not have a failed course, but whose GANO is below 2.00, must first take the courses (DC) and (DD) to get their GANOs above 2.00 in order to graduate.

Completing all necessary courses (120 ECTS) successfully during the permitted period on condition that at least 2.00/4.00 of Cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average) and to have completed compulsory internship and training.
